Air Vent Sealing

Enjoy the ultimate in home COMFORT
Uneven temperatures throughout your home are a common problem with a simple solution. Temperatures that vary from room to room are due to air escaping through leaks in your home’s ductwork – these leaks prevent the conditioned air from flowing into your living space. Sealing your ducts will allow your system to properly heat and cool your home by keeping conditioned air exactly where you want it – giving you the ultimate in-home comfort.
THE LEAKS HIDDEN IN YOUR AIR VENTILATION SYSTEM ROB YOU OF COMFORT
We can instantly fix your home with our complete duct sealing system.
Aeroseal improves comfort in your home immediately, removing “dead zones”, and evening out temperatures in EVERY room and balancing air flow and humidity. Only then can you truly get the most out of your furnace, air conditioner, any smart thermostat and climate control technology.
Sealing your leaky ducts will result in:
- Greater humidity control
- Improved air flow
- Even temperatures
- Comfort in every room
Our system allows the HVAC systems to heat and cool homes to the best of their designed potential. Delivering conditioned air only where it is wanted, providing consistently even temperatures in every room of your home.
Sealing your ducts dramatically increases the amount of airflow coming out of your vents, ensuring maximum conditioned air from your system as it should be.
Another benefit is by sealing your ducts you eliminate those stuffy upstairs rooms that are so uncomfortable in the warmer months because the conditioned air isn’t reaching them

Indoor Air Quality
If anyone in your home suffers from asthma or allergies, you want to make your home as healthy as possible. Pollutants like pollen, dust mites, mold, animal dander and dust are common triggers for allergies and asthma. Leaky ductwork in your home will force unhealthy air into your living space; unhealthy air from your attic, crawlspace, basement or even from behind walls. Sealing your ducts will eliminate entrance points for pollutants and leave your home with healthier air.

LEAKY RETURN DUCTS CREATE A DUSTY HOME
Leaky return ducts will result in having:- Dusty home and increased filter changes
- Unhealthy poor indoor air quality
- Humidity problems that are Difficult to Control
- Increased Possibility of mold growth inside of your ducts from moisture
- Increased energy usage
WHAT ARE RETURN VENTS AND WHERE ARE THEY LOCATED?
Return vents (or cold air vents) pull the air out of your rooms into your return ducts and send it back to your heating and cooling system. In most homes return vents are larger than supply vents, and you will not feel air being blown out of them. Ductwork for returns is usually found in the unconditioned spaces of your home. Here in Wisconsin usually the basement and inside walls, but maybe in attics, under the floors or in crawlspaces. The negative pressure they are designed to operate in draws
Sealing air return ducts is important to you and your family’s health and well-being. The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology estimates that 50% of all illnesses are caused by poor indoor air quality (IAQ). The EPA lists indoor pollution as one of the top five environmental risks to public health, causing 8.5 million deaths each year.
TAKE CONTROL OF DUST WITH AEROSEAL
The Aeroseal duct sealing process increases your home’s air quality, by working to eliminate dust, allergens, and odors getting inside from unconditioned spaces.
“I noticed a significant improvement in my allergies right after SE Cleaners cleaned and sealed my ductwork.”
Sherry K. Beloit WI
Sealed air returns stop gross dust, dirt, allergens, and other air pollutants from being introduced into your system and then blasted all over your house.
In addition to greater airflow coming out of your vents, sealing your ducts blocks out all the filthy dust, dirt, and allergens, providing the fresh air that you expect and putting your mind at ease.
Sealing your air returns will block humid and unconditioned air from entering the system and eliminate the threat of mold growth inside your ducts.

Green Energy Efficient Home
On average, 30 cents of every dollar spent on heating and cooling is wasted through leaks. A leaky system causes your system to run more than needed it That extra cost is being spent creating unnecessary pollutants for our environment. Sealing your ducts not only saves you money but gives you pride in a greener more energy efficient home.
Did you know you could be wasting as much as 40% of your home’s energy?
So Much energy is wasted that every seal is Equivalent to planting 50 Trees!
Duct sealing offers a way to reduce energy needs while saving money and increasing the comfort in your home.
Sealing your leaky ducts will result in:
- Reduced energy consumption
- Reduced Carbon footprint of the home
- Lower energy bills
- Longer system life
- Greater Home comfort
This is a huge deal! A benefit you can truly see and feel in your wallet. You can realize an annual savings of up to $850 per year on your heating and cooling bills.
Sealing your ducts dramatically decreases the amount of time your system runs. Reducing the carbon footprint. In south central WI our Aeroseal process has had the carbon reduction equivalent of planting 19,250 trees or permanently removing 77 cars from the road. Updated 5/2/2023
Aerosealing your ducts will help get the most out of your system which equals more air from your vents providing greater home comfort and a longer system life.

GET THE EFFICIENCY YOU PAID FOR
Sealing your ducts is the best way to achieve maximum efficiency from your equipment.
SEER & AFUE in the chart to the side are energy efficiency ratings, like MPG in your car. These ratings are based on testing done in the ideal sealed environment. To get the best performance and efficiency in your home your ventilation system needs to be properly engineered for your home. The furnace and AC needs to be sized appropriately for your home. Then of course the duct work needs to be installed correctly and in good repair. Fortunately we have strong codes that ensure these are the standard in all homes. That means the potential to have a HVAC system run nearly as efficient as the ratings claim is available to nearly all homes in the US. However the codes and enforcement for sealing that system after installation is historically lacking across the US. The problem is so wide spread that according to the US Department of Energy 95% of US homes have leaky ducts. Nationally the average home leaks about 25-40%. In my experience Wisconsin homes tend to leak much more just due to the type of home construction in our area.
Source: Comfort Institute. Based on Department of Energy Research and FL Energy Office Research Report: FSEC-CR-397-91 Degradation above is typical. Impact is up to 50% greater on AC performance if return air leakage is from a hot attic or attached garage. Impact is typically 50% to 100% greater on winter heating performance of a heat pump with electric resistance auxiliary heat.
25-40% ENERGY LOSS
“Typical duct systems lose 25-40 percent of the heating and cooling energy put out by the central furnace, heat pump or air conditioner . Duct repairs could be the most important energy improvement measure you can do .”
U.S. Department of Energy Consumer Report
- A leaky system will effect efficiency in many ways.
It will pull hot air out of the attic through the wall cavity returns. A 10% leak from the attic can cause a 30% loss of efficiency. - The conditioned air can leak into unwanted areas, like your unfinished basement, wall spaces between rooms, attic or even the cabinets under your sink. The whole system now has to run longer to produce enough to condition the additional areas.
- The cumulative leaks can pull away enough air flow to where there is just not enough conditioned air getting into some rooms. To compensate for this you may buy additional or larger equipment and fans using more energy.
- The additional run time requires more frequent repairs and replacement.
- The dust drawn into the system from leaks clogs the filter. A dirty filter stains the system leading to more frequent repairs.
“My system run time dropped from about 5 hours each day to 3 hours after we had SE Cleaners seal our system”.

THINKING ABOUT BUYING A NEW A/C OR HEATING SYSTEM?
Don’t let your old ducts keep you from getting the high performance you are paying for!
An investment in a new high efficiency heating and cooling system should save significantly on your utility bills. However, you won’t save much if your existing ductwork is in bad shape.
Plus, if you’re planning to install new heating and cooling equipment, a well-designed and sealed duct system may allow you to downsize to a smaller, less costly heating and cooling system that will provide better dehumidification.
